Day 1: ENTEBBE - NGAMBA ISLAND - KAMPALA
A visit to the island of the chimpanzees! In the morning
you will depart from Entebbe for a close encounter with
our closest relatives. After a pleasant boat ride you will
reach Ngamba Island, where you will be directed to the visitors
reception to learn more about the chimps and their lifestyle.
You will be able to view and photograph these fascinating
apes in their “New come Home from Captivity”
only in Entebbe at Entebbe Airport Guest House/ The Boma
Guest House/Gately Inn or in Kampala.
Day
2: KAMPALA - FORT PORTAL
After breakfast we will depart Kampala and head west to
Fort Portal. Driving through the verdant countryside we
will pass traditional homesteads and farms with a lunch
stop at Garden's Resturant for a Ugandan Buffet, proceed
towards the Crater Lake Region with visits to the Top of
the world and neighboring crater lakes. Overnight at Ndali
Lodge/Chimpanzee Forest Guest House/ Primate Lodge.
Day
3: KIBALE NATIONAL PARK
After Breakfast report to the Park Headquarters for Briefing
as the forest opens its doors for a sensational chimp tracking.
Kibale Forest is reputable of having the greatest variety
and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy
a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search
of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white
colobus monkey and many others. After a hearty lunch we
transfer to the Bigodi Swamp for another, totally different
nature walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is an initiative of the
local community and is known for its rich diversity of birds
and primates. Return to your accommodation for dinner.
Day
4: KIBALE - QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
After Breakfast, you will be transferred to QENP with a
lunch stop at Kasese. Upon entering the park, you will enjoy
a short game Drive before checking into your Accommodation.
Overnight at Ishasha wilderness Camp/Mweya Safari Lodge
Day
5: Game Viewing and Boat Cruise
Early Morning Breakfast and for game drive and head for
the mating ground of the Uganda Kobs. A search for the tree
climbing Lions, elephants, buffaloes, if luck the Leopard
and many bird species. Return to your accommodation for
Lunch/ or a packed lunch will have been provided in the
morning. In the afternoon we procced for a boat cruise along
the Kazinga Channel, a natural link between Lake Edward
and Lake George. Enjoy abundant birdlife such as such as
African Fish eagle, Grey headed king fisher, Swamp flycatcher,
Grey capped Warbler, Red chested sunbird, Black-headed gonolek,
Great White nad Pink backed Pelican, Great and long tailed
Cormorants, Common Squaco Heron, African open billed stock,
Malachite and Pied kingfishers, Black crake, swamp fly catcher
among others and the hundreds of hippos that are cooling
off at the shores, this cruise will definitely be one of
the highlights of your safari. Return to your accommodation
at 5:00pm and enjoy beautiful sunset.
Day
6: QENP to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast we go for a hike in the Kyambura Wildlife
Reserve. Driving through a grassland area, all of a sudden
we come across an amazing gorge of one hundred meters deep,
covered with tropical rainforest. You will hike into the
gorge of the Kyambura River in search of the wild chimpanzees.
It is a beautiful walk through the river valley, home to
many birds and butterfly species as well. After this activity
we drive to Lake Mburo National Park with lunch enroute.
As we enter the park and head towards the accommodation
it is likely that you will see some wildlife, like impalas,
topis, warthogs, zebras and buffaloes. Dinner and overnight
at Rwonyo Camp/Mihingo Lodge
Day
7: Lake Mburo National Park to Kampala
Early start of the day as we will go for a nature walk guided
by a ranger. Lake Mburo is the only national park where
you can experience a safari on foot. After breakfast we
transfer to Kampala with a stop at the equator for photos
or shopping. Arrival late in the afternoon in Kampala transfer
to your accommodation in Kampala or Entebbe. |
